Abstract
Two distributed multiple resource/multiple access algorithms, the receiver oriented protocol (ROP) and the dependent receiver oriented protocol (DROP), that are applicable to mobile networks connected by point-to-point radio or satellite links are presented and the maximum throughput is determined. These algorithms are dynamic in that they adapt to variable network topology and connectivity. It is also shown that, for symmetric networks, no other algorithm performs better than the DROP.<>
