Abstract :
It is assumed that a receiver´s input is a digital signal corrupted by white Gaussian noise. The information symbols in the digital data stream are in general allowed to be correlated. The small signal maximum likelihood estimate of the channel impulse response is derived. We show that the estimator problem leads to a generalized eigenvalue problem. An example is presented.
