Abstract :
An example is used to demonstrate that in the abovementioned paper by B. Friedland et al. (ibid., vol.AC-32, pp.62-3, Jan. 1987) the theorem on asymptotic stability has to be used in a more precise form than cited to yield a stable feedback controller. The authors thank the commenter for pointing this out.<>
