Abstract :
A new transmission scheme is proposed that will expand chromatic dispersion tolerance using a novel single-sideband (SSB) direct detection technique. The technique converts a duobinary-carrier-suppressed return-to-zero signal to an optical duobinary signal using spectral filtering in an optical receiver.
