Abstract :
To study the stability of magnetically sensitive Vicalloy wire, which when properly stressed consists of core and peripheral regions with different coercivities, the authors twisted wire samples to varying degrees, magnetized the samples, and applied a disturbing magnetic field. The magnetized state of the peripheral regions of samples were highly stable against such external disturbances, and in particular no evidence of creep or similar phenomena was observed.
