Abstract :
The static operating characteristics of a new type of levelness and orientation sensor, using magnetic fluid and employing the principle of operation of differential transformer sensors, are described. Three output voltages from a single sensor unit enable accurate detection of the sensor angles of orientation within the horizontal and vertical planes over wide ranges.
