Abstract :
The generation of a kilovolt square pulse by a dual of the Blumlein line with a fast photoconductive semiconductor opening switch is demonstrated. A simple method of pulsed current charging by a charged capacitor is employed, and the resultant staircase-like charging current waveform is observed. The experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical expectations.<>
