Abstract :
The physical mechanism of superconductivity and the physical parameters of superconductors are briefly described. The limitations of digital semiconductors are identified. The operation of the Josephson junction is explained, and its use as a memory device is examined. Power requirements and packaging of Josephson devices are discussed.<>
