Abstract :
An adaptive baud-rate timing recovery scheme for digital communications, suitable for implementation using digital signal processing techniques, is described. Its principal advantages are that determination of functions yielding timing error estimates is simple, and that these estimates are low-variance. This is achieved by calculating timing error estimates only when certain suitable data sequences occur.
