Abstract :
The design of a fixed filter is considered for equalization of an imprecisely known channel. The channel frequency response is assumed to have amplitude and phase characteristics lying within specified bounds at each frequency, and a minimax filter optimizing worst case mean-squared error (MSE) performance is derived. The general result is illustrated by considering a two-path channel model with an uncertain secondary path delay characteristic.
