Abstract :
Bright yellow fluorescence is observed in a YBr3:Dy,Er phosphor under 1.31 μm laser diode (LD) irradiation. The intensity of the 660 nm emission (4F9/2-4I15/2 radiative transition of Er3+) for the optimum composition of 2DyBr3-20ErBr3-78YBr3 in a bromide phosphor is improved to a level 169 times stronger than that of a chloride phosphor under 5 mW LD excitation
