  • Abstract
    Previous authors have found that jitter-free operation is achievable with appropriate pulse shaping when the nonlinearity in the timing recovery circuit is a square-law rectifier. In this paper we consider the general case of an arbitrary nonlinearity and we show that a class of pulses can still be found which provide very good jitter performance. Comparisons are made with previous results.
