Abstract :
This paper presents a performance analysis of phase quantizers in noncoherent digital correlation detectors for weak signals in additive narrow-band non-Gaussian noise. It will be shown that under certain regularity conditions the effects of quantization and correlation can be strictly separated. The result of an optimization is the uniform phase quantizer which confirms intuitive expectations.
