Abstract :
This short article argues that some of the more recent graphics calculators have many uses in engineering and engineering education, and can perform some tasks better than PCs. It is argued that many of the features on the more advanced types are especially useful for electrical and electronics engineers, and the reader´s attention is drawn in particular to the ease with which problems involving complex numbers can be dealt with. Three example applications are given to illustrate what can be done: Fourier analysis, circuit analysis, and Nyquist diagrams
