Abstract
This paper discusses the application of switched-current techniques to the implementation of median filters. A new switched current element is introduced which has the ability to compare and toggle two signals. Using this new element and other basic constituents such as current mirrors and delay cells, a systolic algorithm can be implemented which performs the signal processing function of median filtering. Median filters implemented in this way enjoy all the inherent advantages of the current-mode circuit operation
