Abstract :
A nonuniform power transmission line model is presented, based on a finite-differences algorithm to solve the wave equations for any space variation of the line parameters. This line model is interfaced with EMTP and used for representing transmission line towers. Results are obtained for comparison with other solution methods, showing a good performance of the proposed model. Computer simulation of experimental tests is performed, and a good agreement between the simulation results and the published experimental results is found, the tower losses being considered as a frequency-constant nonuniform parameter
