Abstract :
The stationary current-voltage characteristics in a knife-plane set-up generally exhibit three main regimes of electrical conduction, an ohmic regime, a quasi-ohmic one and one of rapid increase. The last regime corresponds to dominance of charge injection by the knife associated with a vigorous liquid motion which contributes to the passage of the current. The theoretical study of bulk conduction in a wire-cylinder system, taking into account field-enhanced dissociation, allows us to conclude that in the quasi-ohmic regime, charge injection by the knife is also the dominant factor.
