Abstract
The propagation characteristics of a cylindrical waveguide made from a frequency selective surface (FSS) is computed. The FSS is a free standing strip grating where the elements are periodically arranged in the φ direction. The analysis is based on cylindrical and periodic (Floquet mode) wave expansions. The mode content is presented as a function of the radius to wavelength ratio. The cutoff frequencies depend on the periodicity of the array
