Abstract
As the spectrum becomes more crowded and as communication centers become more complex the need for equipement which will help alleviate the interference problems becomes more pressing. these problems were given partucular consideration in planning the design of a new 50 Watt AM transmitter for fixed station use in the range lO8 to 152 Mc. Some of these problems and the steps taken to solve them in the subject transmitter will be discussed. This transmitter will be referred to by its assigned type designation, 242F-5. It has been possible by the use of the design described above to reduce the cost some 20% as compared to a previous design and at the same time improve the perlormance in almost every respect.
