Abstract :
The author gives the results of computations of losses in a cylindrical conductor due to surge currents taking the skin effect into account. They are obtained on the basis of formulas developed in a previous paper for several practical cases. (see ibid., vol.137, no.2, p.80-4, 1990). The total losses in a volume and those losses called ´losses at a surface layer´ are calculated. For practical considerations the losses at a surface layer are more important.
