Abstract
The author considers the design of observers for the discrete singular system Ex (k +1)=Ax (k )+Bu (k ), y (k )=Cx (k ), placing special emphasis on the problems of state reconstruction and minimal-time state reconstruction. It is shown that for a singular system, finite poles can be moved to infinity by state feedback and the state can be reconstructed by causal observers
