Abstract
Telecommunications networks have enjoyed rapid advancement for more than three decades since the 1980s, based on stunning successes in the electrical and electronic fields, and have grown up to being the solid foundation of the worldwide information infrastructure. In the meantime, progresses in telecommunications networks have in return made tremendous contributions to the development and prosperity of the world economy and human societies, leading globally the transformation to the so-called “earth village” and the “information age”.
