Abstract :
It has been common practice for a long time to describe the behavior of the arc in a HV compressedgas circuit breaker with the two-pole model. In this paper, we made a successful attempt to apply the model also to a vacuum switch. Here, a sophisticated evaluation method is used which was developed by us.
