Abstract
In recent years, considerable interest has arisen in applications of magnetic insulation to the transport of electromagnetic pulses in vacuum transmission lines. Such lines provide, in principle, the highest power densities of transported energy with quite moderate losses. In the present paper, the results of theoretical and experimental investigations of vacuum transmission lines, performed in part in the Laboratory of New Accelerator Problems at the P. N. Lebedev Physical Institute, are presented.
