Abstract :
A high-directivity on-glass window antenna with a see-through reflector is presented. The proposed structure consists of two pieces of glass: one includes a radiating antenna and the other includes a reflector. To provide lower visual impact, a loop antenna and a loop-type frequency-selective surface are employed as the radiating antenna and reflector, respectively. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the performance of the antenna. At 1.8 GHz, the measured peak gain with the see-through reflector is 7.96 dBi, whereas the peak gain without the see-through reflector is 0.68 dBi. Therefore the peak gain at 1.8 GHz is improved by 7.28 dB after using the see-through reflector.
