Abstract :
Dielectric measurements have long been a principal means of observing long-chain molecules in motion, whether in dilute or concentrated solutions, or in undiluted rubbery, glassy, or crystalline polymers. Many problems have been solved but many other are still under active investigation. Selected aspects of present understanding, principally of single chains in solution, are reviewed.
