Abstract
This report reviews the recent technological developments in Japanese power cables. Improvements in cable manufacturing process, and insulation material designs to reduce the insulation thickness are introduced. Several noticeable reports on water-tree-retardant materials are also referred to clarify this technological situation. Water-proof cables have also been proposed as another promising approach to water-tree-retardant XLPE cables.
