Abstract
This article presents the technical and business conditions of mobile WiMAX in Japan. The frequency allocation by the Japanese government is described and the operator selection process is explored. The service deployment plan of mobile WiMAX by UQ Communications, a mobile WiMAX operator in Japan selected by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), is discussed.
