Abstract :
In this paper, a multipoint counter electrode (MCE) sensor to be placed on the concrete surface for testing the corrosion rate of reinforcing steel was developed. Both the normal platform counter electrode and the MCE have been tested and compared in chloride-contaminated mortar, simulating a kind of marine circumstance. By using the simulation software ANSYS and comparing with the real weight loss of the steel during corrosion, the accuracy of the MCE has been evaluated.
