Abstract :
This paper presents an in-depth survey of motors in a refinery and a chemical plant. The potential for energy and demand savings is then determined and hence the dollar savings using a sliding rate structure currently applicable to the petrochemical industry in Louisiana, USA. Extensive use of the program MotorMaster is used and motor manufacturer´s data is presented in a form to provide insight into potential areas for savings
