Abstract :
The unidirectional anisotropies of NiFe Permalloy thin films exchange-coupled to nickel oxide films are analyzed. Studies were made on ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic of NiFe/NiO bilayer structures as a function of layers thicknesses. For a 100 Å thick Ni81Fe19 film deposited on top of a 400 Å thick NiO film, an exchange anisotropy field (He) of 115 Oe is obtained at room temperature after field-cooled from 200°C. The equivalent interfacial exchange coupling energy is 0.09 ergs/cm2
