Abstract :
Engineering managers have a global responsibility, especially to the human beings who are affected by their products and services. Making ethical decisions is of the utmost importance, because peoples´ lives depend on those decisions. Education and training heighten the awareness of engineers when faced with an ethical dilemma. The recommendations provided in this paper will serve to build a foundation from which to make his/her tradeoff decisions ethically. However, it is the individual engineering manager who ultimately decides if they are going to ethically make the complex decisions created by a competitive environment.
