Abstract :
A procedure is described for interpreting the results of direct current resistivity measurements in regions where the underlying structure cannot be assumed to be layered but varies little in the ¿strike¿ direction. Automatic inversion of the data is performed with the subsurface model having an arbitrary 2-D conductivity distribution. Results of such inversion are shown for both simple models and for field data where the method is shown to be accurate and to significantly save hand modeling time.
