Abstract :
High-power (>50 mW) and wideband (>50 nm) 1.3 μm super-luminescent diodes (SLDs) are reported. For both facets, tilted stripe with window structures and antireflection coating enable the realisation of a low-spectrum ripple (<0.4 dB). An SLD module exhibits a high coupling efficiency above 70% and a high power above 30 mW in a single-mode fibre.
