Abstract
High-performance microspeakers with broad-band frequency are essential for multimedia function in cellular phones. With the increased size of multimedia liquid crystal display window, space for microspeakers is relatively reduced to maintain the same phone size. This paper introduces elliptical microspeakers that have an advantage in mounting space over circular types. For sound pressure level analysis of the microspeakers, electromagnetic, mechanical, acoustic, and their coupling effects are considered for the analysis. Results show that the elliptical speakers have the equivalent performance as circular speakers with similar surface area.
