Abstract :
A model reference adaptive regulator for a current source induction motor drive has been proposed and implemented successfully. The controller uses a PI adaptation to take care of the load variations and machine parameter changes of the drive system. Only the available information of the states and output of the reference model and the plant output are required for the control. No explicit parameter identification is required. Furthermore, the proposed controller can be designed using a reduced order reference model to simplify the design without degrading much of the performance. Thus, the controller is easy to implement practically. Effectiveness of the controller is demonstrated by the simulation and experimental results
