Abstract :
The paper considers the design of a broad-band U-slot patch antenna using a new proximity-coupled double /spl Pi/-shaped feed line. The new feed is an improvement upon a /spl Pi/-shaped feed line and allows the elements to be spaced closely in two-dimensional (2D) arrays. The bandwidth of a single element is shown to be 21.5% for a return loss better than 10 dB.
