Abstract
Composite magnetic thin film heads were developed for DCC systems, which incorporate digital read/write elements and analog read elements on one head chip. In DCC heads, suppression of Barkhausen noise (BHN) and instability in reproduce characteristics is particularly important. In order to solve these problems, a new barberpole structure incorporating a new arrangement of hard magnet films on the MR films was adopted
