Abstract :
This paper proposes an approach to estimate the load factor for variable-speed wind turbines, which is an index of high interest for economic evaluation of the wind power generation systems. The proposed method is based on the statistical discipline of the wind resource and short-time performance of wind turbines. Calculation results are given for a case study.
