Abstract :
Summary form only given. Some changes in the source material to be translated have occurred for various reasons. First, there will no longer be any translations of digests from the Annual Conference on Magnetics in Japan. It has not been possible to translate the large number of these digests on a timely basis, and by mutual agreement with the Magnetics Society of Japan they will no longer be source material for TJMJ. Replacing the digests will be additional articles from the Journal of the Magnetics Society of Japan (Nippon Oyo Jiki Gakkaishi). The first issues of TJMJ Volume 4 will be devoted to translations of articles from the Journal of the Magnetics Society ofJapan (JMJpn), Volume 12, Number 2. Each original publication has been subjected to the review process of the Magnetic Society of Japan, and the quality of the translation will have been reviewed by the TJMJ Associate Editors. Translations will appear roughly in the order of appearance in the original publication subject to the consent of the authors. All articles that have this consent will be translated. Later issues will be devoted to technical reports from the IEICE Technical Report on Magnetic Recording, again subject to prior approval of the author. It is anticipated that all reports released with approval can be translated. Additional material may be translated if resources are available and when suitable agreements have been achieved. It is our hope that future developments will permit complete translations of all issues of TJMJ.
