Abstract :
A practical demonstration of an optimized, resonantly enhanced Mach-Zehnder modulator on X-cut LiNbO3 is presented. Resonant enhancement was achieved by terminating both ends of the electrode with shorted stubs. The modulator electrode active section and inductive terminations have been numerically optimized for resonant operation at 1.8 GHz. Suggestions for increasing the frequency of operation are also presented
