Abstract :
Since the shape of recording magnetic fields remains as an isophase magnetic surface in the recording media with a relatively thick magnetic film such as magnetic tape, a notable write phase shift in the recording and playback system appears. Therefore, influences such as changes in the recording spacing are a matter of conern. Consequently, in order to carry out suitable equalization, the write phase characteristics in´ the recording and playback system are monitored and the equalization circuit must compensate for them. Based on the above observations, we have measured the write phase characteristics of the recording and playback system and examined the influence of the recording system parameters and also studied the influence on the playback waveform.
