  • Abstract
    The complete implementation of a 204 Gbit/s throughput over 3 km quadrature-subcarrier system for standard within-building 50 μm multimode fibre applications is described. The simultaneous transmission of 40 dense wavelength division multiplexed (DWDM) channels, utilising in-phase and quadrature 2.55 Gbit/s-subcarrier signals, is shown to be feasible. Complete data and carrier synchronisation is provided by a zero-latency, pilot-tone based, phase-locked loop scheme operating at 5.1 GHz
