Abstract :
A generalized induction motor model in the arbitrary reference frame that includes saturation of the magnetizing branch is presented. The model incorporates the spatially dependent or cross saturation effect. Steady-state, dynamic, and transient analyses and tests are presented to show the importance saturation has to induction motor dynamics. Comparisons with other simulation approaches show that the proposed model has clear advantages in computational accuracy and efficiency.
