Abstract :
The magnetoelastic properties of Fe-Pd+Mo,Ni,C and Si ternary alloys have been studied. The ¿ phase was stabilized at room temperature by the addition of the third element. The longitudinal magnetostriction ¿¿, ¿Eb and d¿¿/dH all increase on adding a third element. The magneto-mechanical coupling constant k obtained from the ¿E effect agrees with that calculated from the dynamic magnetostriction. The maximum value of k is 0.26 at a bias field of 8 Oe.
