Abstract :
The switching capability of a simple high temperature superconducting (HTS) lumped element bandstop filter is demonstrated. A bias current of the order of the critical current of the HTS material is necessary to switch the filter response from high to low attenuation at the stop-band frequency. A simple theoretical model to describe the ON and OFF states is presented. First measurements of the response time to a pulsed bias current show that the switching time is <2 μs
