Abstract
A wide angle propagation technique is formulated through an expansion of the Helmholtz operator followed by a Pade expansion and factorisation of the resulting polynomials. Its accuracy is checked through the successful modelling of integrated waveguide turning mirrors, indicating that a 6th order polynomial can handle a tilt angle as large as 55° very accurately
