Abstract :
The number of wavelengths required in arbitrarily connected dense wavelength-routed optical networks (WRONs) with no intermediate wavelength translation is evaluated for the first time. It is shown that WRONs can satisfy any logical connectivity with a limited number of wavelengths, dependent only on the physical connectivity
