  • Abstract
    A monolithically integrated tunable DFB optical filter, amplifier and detector has been fabricated. Packaged devices provide 19.6 dB optical gain at 4 GHz filter bandwidth (3 dB) and 4 nm tuning around 1552 nm. A sensitivity of -29.5 dBm (at 10-9 BER) has been achieved for a 1.2 Gbit/s signal
