Abstract :
A new partial discharge calibrator is described. The device, suitable to operate in a floating position, generates synchronized pulses at the mains frequency. Synchronization is achieved by capacitive coupling to the mains with a cable wound around the power leads. This solution yields a device of 60 mm×45 mm×20 mm, allowing partial discharge detector calibration with reduced error
